  • Q: Where else can you spend a fun evening with friends of all ages and learn a new skill at the same time?
  • A: Friday Night West Coast Swing at University City High School UCHS on June 9, from 7:00-9:45 PM. Students from any area High School or Middle School and adults of all ages are invited to attend!

West Coast Swing dance lessons and social dance is sponsored by the UCHS PTSA, with special guest dance instructor Brick Robbins. Brick teaches West Coast Swing in many venues around the San Diego area and it is a wonderful opportunity to have him teaching dance at our local high school.

The dance is located in the activity room adjacent to the gym at University City High School, 6949 Genesee Avenue. High School or Middle School student tickets are only $5. Adult tickets are $10. Tickets are sold at the door.

We are trying to bring West Coast Swing Dancing and Competitions to UCHS. But first students and community need to learn the dance! Every new dancer helps to build the dance community in University City. Everyone is welcome. All ages and all levels. Couples are welcome but no partner is necessary. Arriving solo is fine.

  • Attire: casual or business casual.
  • Shoes: dress flats and business shoes, or any sneaker or boat shoe. No high heel shoes please.

The dance is a great environment for beginners to learn the basics of West Coast Swing, California’s official state dance.

The dance will begin with a lesson from 7:00 to 8:00 PM followed by social dancing; a great way to practice.

This is a fundraiser for UCHS PTSA. Please help us “get the word out” by telling your friends and neighbors. See samples of West Coast Swing at www.wcsvideos.com.

Please join our UC Dance Facebook page for event updates and future event info https://www.facebook.com/ucdancing/ @ucdancing. Have fun dancing while supporting the UCHS PTSA!

See you on the dance floor on June 9.
