4th of July UC Celebration Line-Up
Celebrate Independence Day with your friends and neighbors at Standley Park Sunday, July 4! The fun starts at 8 a.m. and continues until 7 p.m. Entry is free - come and go as you please! You don’t even have to deal with parking - free trolley pick-up and drop-off along Governor Drive is available from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.!
	Kick off the day with a 5K Run/Walk through Standley Park! Registration is $20 and includes a race t-shirt (while supplies last). Pre-register at the Standley Rec Center and you’ll receive a free pancake breakfast ticket! The 5K Run/Walk is a USA Track & Field-sanctioned event for serious runners as well as “Average Joes” and walkers.
After the race, head over to the Pancake Breakfast, served from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Proceeds support the many events and projects sponsored by UCCA.
	On-stage entertainment begins at 9:30 a.m. and continues throughout the day. From 5 to 7 p.m., jump up and dance to the sound of San Diego’s premiere dance band “Y3K”!
		Show your 4th of July spirit by decorating your bike and/or pet! The Bike and Pet Parade steps off from Standley Middle School at 11 a.m., led by the Standley Middle School Marching Band. Line up at the school at 10:40 so you don’t miss out! Please note: Pets must be on a leash, and scooters are not recommended on the grassy parade route.
How well do you know UC? Put a team together for the Photo Scavenger Hunt! Register at the Celebration by 11:45 so you can join the race, which starts at noon.
	From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., browse vendor booths and the Book Barn. Other activities to check out during the afternoon include a rock wall and inflatables (for a fee), and free swim at Swanson Pool from 12 to 4!
		Food will be sold throughout the day, as will beer and wine. You can also buy chances to win some great prizes in the opportunity drawing!

	Sponsors are needed to help underwrite this great community event. Your business will benefit from exposure on the 4th of July as well as all summer long during all the concerts at Standley Park! We’ll have it all, and then some! 5K run…pancake breakfast…bike parade…pet parade…book barn…photo scavenger hunt…rock wall…dunk tank…field games…shopping…beer garden…and a variety of food and entertainment until 7:00 p.m.!
