The list below shows planned overnight closures and detours at the Interstate 5 (I-5)/Genesee Avenue Interchange. Closures and detours will occur intermittently between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. Please note construction schedules are subject to change. Motorists are advised to plan their travel and avoid the area, if possible. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.
Overnight Closures and Detours for the Week of August 9, 2015:
Sunday, August 9
NORTHBOUND I-5 DETOUR (approximately 11 p.m. – 5 a.m.)
⇒ Exit northbound I-5 at Genesee Avenue.
⇒ Cross intersection.
⇒ Enter northbound I-5 on-ramp.
Northbound off-ramp to Genesee Avenue (only when northbound I-5 is open).
Intermittent lane closures on eastbound and westbound Genesee Avenue.
Monday – Thursday, August 10 – 13, and Sunday, August 16
Northbound off-ramp to Genesee Avenue.
Intermittent lane closures on eastbound and westbound Genesee Avenue.
Project limits include Science Center Drive to the main entrance at Scripps Hospital on Genesee Avenue, and
Sorrento Valley Road to Voigt Drive on I-5.
