Both the RAF Red Arrows and the US Navy Blue Angels are set to soar over San Diego during the Miramar Air Show. The Red Arrows are known for their trademark Diamond Nine shape, precision flying and close formations. The Red Arrows are one of three aerial demos that should easily be seen over University City; better viewing closer to the base.
According to MCAS MIRAMAR Facebook, the Miramar Air Show Saturday and Sunday schedule includes (all times approximate and subject to change):
- US Air Force F-16 Viper demo scheduled 1:53 PM
- RAF Red Arrows scheduled 2:42 PM
- US Navy Blue Angels scheduled 3:19 PM
Hoping to see the aerial shows without going to Miramar? Please keep in mind there is NO Air Show parking or viewing at Miramar National Cemetery. However, in University City, there are three city parks close to Miramar’s 805 eastern boundary that provide an opportunity to see aerial demos:
- Nobel Athletic Fields on Nobel Drive between Judicial and Shoreham
- University Village on Florey at Cather (no parking lot or facilities)
- University Gardens (aka McElroy Field and Dinosaur Park) on Governor at Gullstrand
