From University Community Planning Group (UCPG) Chair Chris Nielsen: I’ve attached the agenda for the UCPG meeting for Tuesday October 14, 2025. This will be a hybrid meeting, in person and on Zoom. Zoom instructions are to be found on the agenda and at the end of this post.

It’s a short agenda, but we do have some necessary UCPG business.
- First up after public comment will be an introduction of any candidates for the UCPG board for the special election on November 11. Candidates are welcome to give a one-to-two-minute introduction.
- Next, we have a Wireless Control Facility item along Eastgate Mall. The applicants will be seeking approval for changing a power supply and other updates. I’ve attached the presentation for this item. This item was postponed from the September UCPG meeting. Presentation: Power Supply Cabinet installation Proposal
- We’ll have Pure Water give an update on the ongoing Nobel and Genesee work zone, followed by reports.
October 21 at City Council – Costa Verde “8610 Genesee Project”: On October 21 at 2PM, City Council will consider the “8610 Genesee Project”, the old Costa Verde mall. If you are interested in making a comment for this project, please attend the council meeting downtown, connect to the meeting via Zoom, or send your comments directly to the council prior to the meeting. The final agenda should be posted on the city council meeting website no later than October 17.
November 11 at UCPG: For the November UCPG meeting, we will have voting, in person at the meeting location, from 5PM to 8PM, for board seats for which we have candidates. We may also have a presentation by Irvine Co. on their new housing development proposal along Genesee from La Jolla Village Drive to Executive Drive on the east side.
