The UC Fire Safe Council will host a Resource Fair at Standley Park on Saturday, May 16, from 10 to 12 noon, with information about Fire Safe Landscaping, Zone 0, visits with Station 50 firefighters, and much more. Pick up a copy of the SDFD Ready Set Go and Cal Fire Smart Vegetation guides.
SDFD: Zone 0 is the area within 5 feet of a home or building, including outbuildings, attached decks, and stairs. Keeping this area clear of vegetation and other flammable materials helps prevent wildfire from reaching the structure, especially from wind-driven embers.
