The University Community Planning Group (UCPG) will meet Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in hybrid format with Zoom option at 6 PM.

Note this is the baseball all-star game night, so you may consider joining the meeting on Zoom if that’s more convenient.
The conversation with Col. Erik Herrmann from MCAS Miramar should prove to be interesting. It will be the first item on the agenda.
The meeting minutes are not attached here; I’m still working on them and hope to send them in a day or two.
Here is a summary:
- Item 5: Col. Erik Herrmann, base commander of MCAS Miramar, will give an update on base and flight operations, and take questions from the community.
- Item 7: The “La Jolla Capital Project Improv-1” project affects primarily the intersection of Villa La Jolla and La Jolla Village Drive in the UC Plan Area, as the project from Gilman Drive to La Jolla Village Drive along Villa La Jolla is complete except for the intersection with La Jolla Village Drive. - Item 8: Tom Cartier from the UC Fire Safe Council presented a brush report in 2024 which the UCPG found quite interesting, and we asked him to come back when an update to the report was ready. Tom Cartier, UC FSA, presenting. His presentation is attached: UC_FSC_Prentn_UCPG
- Item 11: We need to approve the final CIP list for the UCPG and turn it into the submission portal by July 31. I’ve attached the excel sheet for last year’s submission. Since this is a bit difficult to read, I’ve supplied the project description PDF for last year’s list. We won’t need the UC Library CIP as this project is complete.
