2017 Membership Cards and Complimentary Bumper/Window Stickers are in the Mail*

From Barry Bernstein, University City Community Association President:

ucca-university-city-2017Happy New Year from UCCA.

Thanks to all who have joined or renewed their UCCA membership for the 2017 calendar year. You should receive your membership card and complimentary University City window/bumper sticker in the US Mail in a few days.

Your membership dues help to fund many events and programs that would not be possible without your UCCA membership dues. The monthly newsletter, updated website, 4th of July Celebration, summer concerts, OktoberFest, public school fundraising, holiday tree and menorah lighting, Neighborhood Watch, street banners, median beautification projects, transformer box art … all of these and more are sponsored in part by UCCA membership dues.

UCCA is especially proud of our 2016 accomplishments because we were recognized as a Live Well San Diego partner by the County of San Diego for the volunteer work we do to make our University City community a healthy, safe, and thriving place to live and work.

Buy Local is UCCA’s program to support local businesses. Many local businesses have agreed to provide UCCA members with discounts and/or special offers when members show their UCCA membership card. A list of Buy Local participants is on the back of this letter. To view all current offers, please visit UCCA’s Buy Local page at www.universitycitynews.org.

As a thank you gift from UCCA, I’ve enclosed a vinyl sticker featuring our UCCA logo and images from our new street banners. Please display it proudly on your window or bumper. And, if you joined at the $100 Gold Level, we will personally deliver a UCCA insulated shopper bag to your home.

When you receive the envelope from University City Community Association, open it as soon as possible. Don’t forget to detach your membership card; and carry it in your wallet.

I hope to see you at the next University City Community Association meeting, held the second Wednesday at 6 PM at the Library on Governor. And thanks for making University City more than a neighborhood.

*If you have not had a chance to join or renew your UCCA membership for 2017, there is still time. Go to https://www.universitycitynews.org/join-ucca-today/.
