Wow! It was so nice to meet and greet neighbors and friends in person at the UC Celebration at Standley Park. Thanks to event planning chair Randall Tonini and to John Schindel, president of the event sponsor University City Parks Council. Community sponsors included Nancy Beck, UC MarketPlace, Grace City Church, Spakinect, Ellen Beshears, and University City Community Association (UCCA).
It started with a 5K Run and Pancake Breakfast and ended with a concert and dancing in the park with the 3 Car Garage Band with a whole lot of fun throughout the day.
Many thanks to the volunteers and Recreation Center staff who supported the UC Celebration. Thanks also to all those community members who made donations and all the vendors and community groups who staffed booths and provided activities. The UC Celebration is a fundraiser for the UC Parks Council to support events at Standley Park including the Summer Concerts.
