From Kaitlyn Willoughby, University City community representative from District 1 Councilmember Joe LaCava’s office: I have a few updates I wanted to share from the Councilmember’s office. If you could help spread this information to the community, that would be fantastic.
  1. Volunteers are needed for vaccinations!
    1. Check UCSD’s website at health.ucsd.edu/vaccine-volunteer for details on the types of volunteers that we currently need.
    2. Volunteer roles include:
      1. Licensed medical professionals who can perform vaccinations
      2. Administrative professionals familiar with EPIC and patient check-in
      3. Non-medical professionals who can assist with observing patients, answering general questions, restocking supplies, and other operational duties
  2. Town Hall for (SDG&E) Franchise Fee; background information at https://www.sandiego.gov/undergrounding/overview/history/fees
    1. Our office is holding two town halls on the topic of the Franchise Fee.
      1. The first town hall will be held on Saturday, January 30 at 9:30 a.m. – register at http://bit.ly/D1townhall1
      2. The second town hall will be held on Wednesday, February 3 at 5:30 p.m. – register at http://bit.ly/D1townhall2
  3. Weekly Office Hours
    1. I will be holding weekly office hours for University City every Friday at 10 a.m. The Zoom link is below. Anyone can pop in from 10 to 11 a.m. and ask questions, get information, or relay information to be passed on.
