Update: Free debris disposal and food drive “Holiday Dump & Donate” event at the Caltrans Kearny Mesa Maintenance Yard on Saturday.

This Saturday, December 17, Caltrans District 11 is hosting a “Holiday Dump & Donate” event at the Caltrans Kearny Mesa Maintenance Yard at 7179 Opportunity Rd., San Diego CA 92111.

Staff will be on-site to accept unwanted items, as well as collect voluntary food donations for the San Diego Food Bank’s Holiday Food Drive.

Event starts at 8 a.m. and goes until 12 p.m. or until capacity is reached at the site.

Following the success of statewide free disposal events on Earth Day, Caltrans District 11 is announcing that the last Clean California Dump Day event for 2022 for San Diego will take place the morning of Saturday, December 17, at the Caltrans Kearny Mesa Maintenance Yard, 7181 Opportunity Rd, San Diego, CA 92111.

Caltrans welcomes the public to bring non-hazardous, unwanted items to the Dump Day event where staff will be on-site to accept household waste and approved debris free of charge.

This dump day event is part of Governor Gavin Newsom’s Clean California initiative, a sweeping $1.1 billion, multiyear clean-up effort led by Caltrans to keep roads and waterways free of litter, create thousands of jobs and transform state and local public spaces through beautification efforts. Caltrans has held more than 20 such events in San Diego and Imperial Counties since launching Clean California last July.
