Serra Mesa Community Council has formed a subcommittee, the Montgomery Gibbs Community Committee, to review the updated Montgomery Gibbs Executive Airport (Montgomery Field) Master Plan. The subcommittee has gathered materials and posted them on the Serra Mesa Community Council website.
The Master Plan for Montgomery Gibbs Executive Airport calls for changes that could result in more and larger aircraft flying in and out of Montgomery Field.
- Removal of Runway 28R Displaced Threshold. This would allow larger aircraft.
- Removal of pavement at end of Runway 5 & Taxiway F
- Reconfiguration of other taxiways
- 92 new hangars
- 48 new tie-down areas
- 6,400 sf expansion to existing terminal building
- Addition of public viewing area (outside fence line)
- Addition of unleaded fuel tank
