Work is scheduled from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning through the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 26, weather permitting.

From the City of San Diego: Beginning Saturday, Nov. 22nd, the City of San Diego’s contractor will implement double shifts, including a night shift, to complete necessary work to re-open the Nobel Drive and Genesee Ave intersection to minimize traffic and community impacts for the holiday season.

Work is scheduled from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning through the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 26, weather permitting. Night shifts are being implemented to complete pipeline installation through the intersection ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Throughout this work, crews will be using additional lighting on site, and noise associated with construction may be heard. Earplugs are available onsite to residents upon request.

The traffic control shown on the maps below will remain in place 24 hours a day throughout the duration of the work. After work is completed in this segment, all travel lanes are expected to reopen. For safety reasons, please follow all posted signs including detours.

The City and project team are committed to completing construction as safely and efficiently as possible. The University City community’s patience and coordination are appreciated.

What to Expect:

  • Electronic message boards will be placed as advanced notification about the traffic control shift.
  • Parking restrictions will be enforced; please avoid parking in areas with “no parking” signs. Vehicles in violation of these signs will be towed.
  • 24/7 access for emergency vehicles, residences and businesses will be maintained.
  • Please anticipate traffic delays and construction noise.
