From the office of Councilmember Kent Lee (District 6): Our office has been in communication with various city departments regarding projects in University City, including on Governor and on Genesee. We will be meeting with staff in early January to discuss and receive updates on these projects and will provide a summary to you in mid January.
[The January UCPG planning group will include an agenda information and discussion item related to Governor Drive.]
Meanwhile, community members are encouraged to send comments and questions about University City projects to CM Kent Lee’s office. District 6 contact information is available at: https://www.sandiego.gov/citycouncil/cd6
Please note: There are three community meetings in January; city staff and liaisons regularly attend these meetings and all are open to the public.

Marcy Park: In other construction news, it’s UCCA’s understanding that the Marcy Park Renovation Project is nearing completion. The construction is essentially done and the sod has been installed. The park playground area is scheduled to reopen in March after the city staff ensures that all construction is complete and the irrigation system is working properly,
Please note that Marcy Park is maintained by the Parks & Recreation staff at Standley Recreation Center. Residents can attend the Standley Recreation Group CRG meeting on Thursday, January 22, at 7 pm, for the most up-to-date information from Parks & Recreation staff.
