In University City, Get Ready For Spring with Parks & Recreation

  • Friday, March 20 – St. Patrick’s Day Mardi Gras Free Senior Luncheon Doyle Recreation Center 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • Saturday, March 21 – Spring Egg Hunt Standley Park 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • Wednesday, March 25 – Spring Egg Hunt Doyle Recreation Center 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm
  • Saturday, March 28 – Spring Egg Hunt Nobel Recreation Center 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Community Meets Reminders:

  • Tuesday, March 10: The UCPG Planning Group meets at 6 pm. City staff and liaisons regularly attend the planning group meeting and it is open to all. This is the meeting at which the City Staff are expected to release the information about the Governor Drive Traffic Study. When available, the agenda and location details will be posted at: https://www.sandiego.gov/planning/community-plans/university/planning-group
  • 🔥Saturday, March 14: Fire Safe Your Neighborhood with the University City Fire Safe Council, in-person event at University Village Park, 7100 Florey Street (corner of Gullstrand/Cather and Florey. Details at: https://www.universitycitynews.org/fire-safe-council-university-city/
  • 🍕Sunday, March 15: UCCA President Jemma Samala will host her Open Hours at Round Table Pizza on from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Come by to chat about our community, reminisce about good times gathering at Round Table, and bid a fond farewell to Joe and his staff.
  • Tuesday, March 17: The UCCA Community Association meets at 5:30 pm via Zoom. City Staff are expected to release information about the Governor Drive Traffic Study. When available, the agenda and Zoom details will be posted at: https://www.universitycitynews.org/category/ucca-meeting/
  • Wednesday, March 25: UC Celebration / 4th of July Committee meets at 6:30 at Standley Recreation Center. Details at: https://www.universitycitynews.org/uc-4th-of-july/
  • Thursday, March 26: The CRG Standley Recreation Group meets on Thursday, February 26 at 7 pm at Standley Rec Center. City staff and community liaisons regularly attend the Standley meeting and it is open to all. For more information, stop by or call the Recreation Center at: 858-552-1652
  • Saturday, March 28: Senior Watch presents Estate Planning Basics on Saturday, March 28, starting at 2:00 at Cal Coast Credit Union, 3202 Governor Drive (at the Sprouts Marketplace). Open to seniors, or anyone who has a senior in their life. More information in the University City News, available online on March 3.
