  • BINGO at the Senior Game Night & Potluck – Thursday, September 17, 5:30-7:30pm at the Standley Park Rec Center – there may be prizes!!! Bring a dish, bring a friend, but mainly, bring yourself!
  • Senior Advisory Council – UCCA is partnering with the Senior Advisory Council for a panel discussion: Ask An Expert, this Saturday, September 19, 2:00pm at the University Community Library on Governor Drive. A variety of topics will be discussed, make sure to bring your questions. See the attached flyer.
  • The Walking on Wednesdays groups continue to meet on…Wednesdays! 9:30am in front of Swanson Pool on Governor Drive.
  • Front Porch Pandemic Jazz Jam on Thursday afternoons (weather permitting) 4 to 6 pm at 5626 Bloch Ave. Bring your own chairs and sit one the sidewalk. Details in the September newsletter.
  • Tai Chi is taking a vacation break this month – we’ll see you in October – but remember to take deep breaths and take in the positive energy from the earth!

Save the Date of Saturday, November 14, 2:00pm, as Cal Coast will be hosting: Managing Your Finances, discussing: Money Moves During Economic Uncertainty • Managing rising costs • Protecting savings • Refinancing considerations • Building financial resilience.

Not specifically Senior Watch related, but here are some other tidbits:
  • The local guys from the Front Porch Pandemic Jazz Band is playing at a benefit to support the Alzheimer’s San Diego group, on Wednesday, September 23, from 5:00-7:00pm at the Bayshire Torrey Pines, outside at the Heritage Courtyard),13101 Hartfield Ave., San Diego (Del Mar Heights). Cost is $50 per person and includes dinner, beverages, live jazz and an art auction. Please make your reservations by calling the concierge at 858-259-2222. This is the 3rd year the group is performing to benefit Alzheimer’s SD.
  • I’ve attached an article from the SDUT about continuing care at home, which I found informative.
That’s it for now. I hope to have another event in October, as well as continuing our Game Night and Tai Chi.
