- Summer Reading Program Kick-off Celebration (All Ages): Saturday, June 7 at 2-4 p.m. We will be celebrating the start of our Summer Reading Program (Level Up at your Library) with music, face painting, and more, including an appearance and photo opportunities with Odi the Coyote!
- Amazing Dana Magic Show (Ages 8+): Monday, June 9 at 12-1 p.m. A hilarious 30-minute magic show that engages patrons with laughter and amazement as Amazing Dana weaves magic into the fabric of important topics.
- Ralph’s World Musical Performance (All Ages): Wednesday, June 25 at 10:30-11:30 a.m. Ralph’s World is the mega-fun musical planet where kids rock, rock, rock and dance, dance, dance to their own and their parents’ delight.
- Game Jam Jr. 2025 North (for grades 3-5): Monday-Friday, June 23-27 at 1:30-3 p.m. Ever wonder what it takes to make a video game? In this 5-day program, students will learn the basics of video game development and design using the Scratch programming language to build their own games. Software and equipment provided. No experience necessary. Registration is required and ends on June 16th.
- Teen Advisory Board Meeting: Friday, June 13 at 4-5:15 p.m. This is a meeting for teens who want to help improve library programs for young people. This meeting involves making s’mores and planning a teen lockdown at the library.
- Chess Club: Every Thursday from 3:30-5 p.m. We welcome players with all levels of chess experience from beginners to advanced. Recommended for ages 10 and up.
- Knitting & Crochet Circle: World Wide Knit in Public Day: Saturday, June 14 at 10 a.m.-12 p.m. In honor of World Wide Knit in Public Day, the Knitting and Crochet Circle is having a special meeting with self-guided knitting and crocheting. This is a social group where you can practice your fiber craft in good company, showing off your latest projects, getting support, and make friends. All levels are welcome.
- Celebrity Memoir Book Club: Tuesday, June 24 from 6-7:30 p.m. The Celebrity Memoir Book Club selects a celebrity memoir to read and discuss each month. This month’s selection is Paris by Paris Hilton.

- Ghosts on the Little Bighorn presented by OASIS: Tuesday, June 10, 12:30—2:00 p.m. Ages 8 & up. The battle of the Little Bighorn has long become the iconic clash between Native American nations and tribes and the white colonizers. What led to the war? What really happened that fateful day? Now you can learn the truth about Custer’s Last Stand.
- Koala Conservation: Climate Change and Impacts to Animal Behavior presented by OASIS: Monday, June 16, 12:30-2:00 p.m. Ages 8 & up. Koalas are not bears, but marsupials, and are an endangered species. Find out how climate change is affecting their behavior and ecology. No registration required.
- Signing Storytime (new series through June): First Mondays, 11:45 a.m. Learn basic counting, language skills, and Korean words through an engaging storytime. Next classes: June 2. Beginning July 2025, this class will move to the 4th Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
- Toddler Storytime & Craft: Wednesdays 10:30-11:30am. Ms. Ann reads fun stories and sings songs followed by craft time.
- Middle School Book Club: Thursday, June 26, 4:00-5:00pm. The inaugural book club will discuss the graphic novel Lightfall: The Girl and the Galdurian by Tim Probert. Some copies should be available to check out the week of June 9th.
- English Conversation Group: Fridays: June 13, June 27, 10:00am-11:00am. Meet with other people to practice and improve your beginner’s English-speaking skills.
- Introduction to Watercolor: Friday, June 6, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Rediscover the artist within you. Using various watercolor and ink techniques, Eddie Omens will show you how to create a stunning work of art. Perfect for beginners. Sign up through the online calendar or call Library Staff for assistance at 858-552-1655. You must have attended the first class in May to participate in the June Watercolor class.
- Art for Adults with Ms. Saeda (now through December): Third Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. Enjoy the creative art process in a calm, relaxing environment with an experienced instructor. No registration required. Next meetings: June 17, July 15
- Mahjong Club (open play): 1st Saturday, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. & 4th Saturday, 2:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. For beginners who understand the basics of American Mahjong. Next meet ups: June 7 (AM) & June 28 (PM).
- Qi Gong: Thursdays, 9:30am-11:30am

- Great Decisions 2025: Meets on Friday, June 16 1:00-3:00 p.m. to discuss the most critical global issues facing America today. Check out the Foreign Policy Association website for more details. - EXHIBIT: Pastel Art, May – July 2025. An exhibit of works by students of Rochelle Bradford. Enjoy the variety of subjects in works of art done by students who range from beginners to those with ten years or more of experience.
