Share

The City of San Diego coordinates animal services operations with San Diego Humane Society which serves as its primary animal control agency. Services provided include dog licensing, lost and found, adoptions, microchipping, spay/neuter, vaccination clinics, educational programs, cruelty reports and barking complaints.

As of July 1, San Diego residents may call the Humane Society’s general number at 619-299-7012 for animal-related issues. Please note that the Humane Society is closed July 4, 2018.

According to County Animal Services, letters went out to residents in San Diego who have current dog licenses for their pets advising them that their licenses will remain in effect until they expire and then residents can purchase a new one from the San Diego Humane Society. For more information, contact the San Diego Human Society at https://www.sdhumane.org/.
