Camp Pendleton issues Smoke Advisory due to Wildland Fire School training

Share

As posted on Camp Pendleton Facebook @MCIWPendletonCA: This week, smoke will be visible due to the annual Wildland Fire School. From 7-11 June, CPFD will be hosting this fire school, which serves a dual purpose of training firefighters and conducting prescription burns. Smoke is expected to be visible from base. The fire school brings in CALFIRE and other community fire departments to train to fight wildland fires and is an annual event held in preparation for the drier, warmer season ahead.

For more information and some images of the prescribed burns that have taken place these last few weeks, visit the Camp Pendleton Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/MCIWPendletonCA/
