Share

A new chapter began on Friday June 5 with the grand re-opening at University Community Library after undergoing renovations. Staff welcomed patrons and the community back to the library with activities, refreshments, and impromptu tours. One patron got his first library card.

Misty Jones, San Diego Public Library Director, and Melissa Martin, Branch Manager, were joined by Marc Schaefer, community representative for State Senator Brian Jones, District 6 City Council Member Kent Lee, and many community leaders and residents.

Patrons enjoyed refreshments and wandered among the book stacks, checked out the new computers, and shopped at the Friends of the Library book sale.

Now that the Library on Governor has re-opened, the branch operating hours are as follows:

  • Tuesday: 11:30am – 8:00pm
  • Wednesday: 9:30am-6:00pm
  • Thursday: 9:30am-6:00pm
  • Friday: 9:30am-6:00pm
  • Saturday: 9:30am-6:00pm
  • Sunday/Monday: Closed
