Phase 1 Construction of Pure Water Pipelines underway in Clairemont, University City, Miramar, and Scripps Ranch

From the City of San Diego: Construction of Phase 1 Projects with major water infrastructure including pipelines, pump stations and treatment facilities are taking place in the Morena, Bay Park, Clairemont, University City, Miramar and Scripps Ranch communities.

  • In Clairemont, the Morena Pipelines Southern Alignment begins at the Morena Pump Station at Sherman Street and Custer Street and continues north on Morena Boulevard, Milton Street, Chicago Street and Denver Street to Clairemont Drive. The Morena Pipelines Middle Alignment will connect the Southern Alignment in Bay Park and the Northern Alignment and Tunnels in University City. The Middle Alignment begins on Clairemont Drive at Iroquois Avenue and continues north to Genesee Avenue between Appleton Street and State Route 52.   • In University City, the project begins on Genesee Avenue and state Route 52 and continues on Genesee Avenue, Nobel Drive, Towne Centre Drive and Executive Drive. Tunneling will be completed at Genesee Avenue and SR-52, at Genesee Avenue and Rose Canyon, and under Interstate 805.   • In Miramar and Scripps Ranch, the pipeline will start at Eastgate Mall and follow Miramar Road to Kearny Villa Road and continue along Candida Street to Via Pasar and then Via Excelencia. From there, the pipeline will continue under Interstate 15 and along Business Park Avenue to Carroll Canyon Road and follow Hoyt Park Drive to Meanley Drive before crossing Scripps Lake Drive to the Miramar Reservoir.
